Guangzhou Guangxiao Christian Church, one of Guangzhou’s largest churches, is located in the center of the downtown.The church was entirely funded and built by Chinese Christians.
As early as 1872, the Chinese, who lived in America, had established a self-financed Bethany Chapel in San Francisco. Later, a Missionary Church was established. However, due to the growing number of believers, it became an urgent task to rebuild and expand the church. So they picked a site in Guangxiao Road. That is why the church got its current name “Guangxiao Christian Church”.
Guangxiao Christian Church has won great reputation by founding Zhengguang Primary School and Zhengguang Kindergarten (now named Guangxiao Kindergarten). The school is involved in providing various short-term public education and organizing other public welfare undertakings.
