French Concession Hidden Gem

Down a quite lane amid the hustle and bustle of the French Concession, Diva Life promises the perfect Shanghai sanctuary. Built in 1933, this lane house was once the home of a Jewish wine merchant, H.L.MENKEN, who moved to Shanghai from St. Petersburg, Russia. The house was well preserved thru PRC’s Culture Revolution period and its now reception area was once Menken’s wine cellar in his residency.

The ower Yvonne kept the old bricks in the foyer and transferred it to a spa & chocolate lounge with purple canopy and chandeliers that furnish the spa a homey and relaxing atmosphere. First floor’s nail lounge was once Menken’s living room and its open and spacious area is now used to hold spa parties, bridal shower or meeting functions. The long-lost techniqued wood carved doors and Spanish style color glass windows perfectly reflect the old charm. Second floor’s VIP room was utilized as laboratory and mixing room for Menken’s wine development and 3^rd floor body treatment room was where Menken set out his dream. Although the 4^th floor and the penthouse of top are not open for public at this moment, neverless, is where all Diva Life magic intiated.
